Tells you where you stand and which Ember skill to use next. Ask it whenever you are unsure what to do, so you never need to remember a skill's name.
When to Use
- You just finished setup and do not know what comes next.
- You are back on a project after time away.
- You want to know what Ember can do for you.
What to Say
- "What's my next step?"
- "What can Ember do?"
- "Where am I with this project?"
- "Which Ember skill do I use for this?"
What Happens
- The agent checks your workstation status from the last
ember-workstationrun. - If you are inside a project, it reads
ember-project.yaml, runs the context linter, and looks for the evidence index. - It tells you the next step, why, and the exact words to ask, for example "Finish my workstation setup." It offers to start that skill.
- Asked what Ember can do, it lists every skill with an example prompt and a link to its README.
The next step follows the Ember journey: finish the workstation, put the project on the standard, fix lint errors, set up the evidence index, close readiness gaps, request a sandbox, wait for the operator, and then, for production, go through Accreditation and AiRB.
What It Never Does
- Change anything. It only reads.
- Guess. When it cannot tell, it says so.
- Call a network service.
- Treat a sandbox or a clean readiness report as production approval.
What It Changes
Nothing.
Run It Without an Agent
node ~/gitroot/ember-platform-skills/skills/ember-help/scripts/help.mjs ~/gitroot/<slug>Add --format json for tooling.
Common Problems
| You see | Do this |
|---|---|
| "There is no workstation check on record yet" | Ask "Check my machine." |
| "You are not inside a project" | Open your project folder under ~/gitroot, or start a new project |
| The next step looks wrong | Run the skill it names. Each skill reports its own state in more detail |
